Cruiseman shows you how he removes the top shelter on a 2006 Honda Goldwing GL1800 (non-airbag). This procedure is virtually the same for any 2001-2010 GL1800. However, there may be some differences between year models and trim levels. You should refer to the Honda Service Manual for your specific year model Goldwing.

The procedure is dramatically different for 2012-2014 models and the F6B. A separate video is available for owners of these later models.

Removing the top shelter is necessary to gain access to the air filter. You should plan at least 4 hours for your first attempt to remove the top shelter. After you have done it once, you should be able to do it in under an hour. Take your time, your patience will be rewarded!
